Screenshots

Save a picture of the viewport as a PNG, at the size of the view or at any resolution up to poster size.

  1. Set up the view: orbit to the angle you want and choose a view mode.
  2. Click the camera button at the right end of the top bar. The screen flashes like a shutter and the Save screenshot window opens.
  3. Choose a resolution.
  4. Check the file name, or type your own.
  5. Press Save…. Where the browser allows it, you choose the folder. Otherwise the picture goes to your downloads folder.

What the options mean

Resolution
Six presets: the viewport at 1×, 2× (sharp) or 4× (poster), and 1080p, 1440p and 4K.
Custom (px)
Any width and height, from 16 to 16,384 pixels a side. The aspect ratio and the number of megapixels are shown beside it.
View mode
Current uses the view mode that is on. Solid, Wireframe and X-ray use that mode for the picture only.
Hide scene grid
Leaves the floor lines and the origin axes out of this picture.
Filename
Starts as the model’s name and the time.
Stamp info on image
Prints a small panel in a corner of the picture. Tick what it should show: model name, statistics, selection counts, timestamp, camera, units, and the app’s name. Then pick the corner.

The picture is a PNG file. Right-clicking an empty spot of the viewport also offers Save screenshot….
