Screenshots
Save a picture of the viewport as a PNG, at the size of the view or at any resolution up to poster size.
- Set up the view: orbit to the angle you want and choose a view mode.
- Click the camera button at the right end of the top bar. The screen flashes like a shutter and the Save screenshot window opens.
- Choose a resolution.
- Check the file name, or type your own.
- Press Save…. Where the browser allows it, you choose the folder. Otherwise the picture goes to your downloads folder.
What the options mean
- Resolution
- Six presets: the viewport at 1×, 2× (sharp) or 4× (poster), and 1080p, 1440p and 4K.
- Custom (px)
- Any width and height, from 16 to 16,384 pixels a side. The aspect ratio and the number of megapixels are shown beside it.
- View mode
- Current uses the view mode that is on. Solid, Wireframe and X-ray use that mode for the picture only.
- Hide scene grid
- Leaves the floor lines and the origin axes out of this picture.
- Filename
- Starts as the model’s name and the time.
- Stamp info on image
- Prints a small panel in a corner of the picture. Tick what it should show: model name, statistics, selection counts, timestamp, camera, units, and the app’s name. Then pick the corner.
The picture is a PNG file. Right-clicking an empty spot of the viewport also offers Save screenshot….
