Festival Grounded 2021: The State

Država, The State. For this edition we wanted an image with the weight of a public monument and none of its certainty. The key visual is a single sculpture: figures piled on a rock in the sea, scales in one hand, a halo of swords behind the head, chains and smoke around the base. It borrows the language of official statuary and lets it come apart.

We rendered it twice, once in soft dusk colour and once in polished chrome on black, and those two moods became the whole system. A custom-feeling display face with sharp, ceremonial letterforms does the announcing; a plain geometric sans carries line-ups and dates. Pink against black keeps it loud on a wall and legible on a phone.

The frame with notched corners holds every format together: posters, stickers, the website header, the artist announcements and the animated stories. A black flag reading Država, planted in a red field under the moon, closes the set. It is the same world, just quieter.
